The Sustainable Seafood Initiative (SSI) is a partnership among the Aquarium, government agencies, scientists, culinary professionals and fishermen to promote the use of local and sustainable seafood in South Carolina restaurants. Gilligan’s submitted our full menu for a detailed assessment of our seafood sustainability and use of local South Carolina seafood products to SSI. After our menu was inspected, reviewed and rated, we were awarded the Platinum Partnership. We are one of just a select few restaurants in the Charleston area with this accolade, and we are the only casual dining restaurant in the Lowcountry awarded this honor.
